If you are looking for a fun day out I can not recommend Audley End miniature railway and Elf and fairy walk highly enough. – https://www.audley-end-railway.co.uk/
We booked the tickets the night before as you can book what time you want to go on the train which cuts out queing time which is always a winner when you have a 3-year-old in tow. When we attended yesterday Ben & Holly were making a guest appearance. We had booked for the 11am train ride but were lucky enough to get on the 10.40am ride.
The ride itself lasts for about half an hour and takes you around the whole forest where you get to go through the fairy forest and also see the teddy bears picnic.
By the time we had finished on the train Ben & Holly were making their appearance, and luckily there wasn’t a big que and Chloe and Mr D managed to get up close and get some great photos of them.
The bouncy castle and swing soon caught Chloe’s eye and she was soon making a break for it. For £2 it was unlimited play throughout the day which I think is great value. Chloe would have stayed on the bouncy castle if all day if we had allowed it.
Soon the heavens started to open so we took shelter under a train platform and took the opportunity to ride on the miniature train, which was £1 a ride, to go round the park twice. Again excellent value and they didnt charge for Chloe.
Soon it was lunch time and there was loads of picnic benches in the playground area for us to eat our picnic. There was also a lovely little café that served hot and cold food and was absolutely beautiful inside with a little fairy woodland display.
After lunch we set of on the woodland fairy and elf walk through the forest. Chloe loved running through the forest and I think me and Mr D loved this part more than Chloe. So much attention to detail had been put in to the fairy houses along with little plaques all about the fairies.
We loved it so much we are already planning are next trip back for Christmas time!
